I don't often get a chance to see my all time favorite singer in my hometown. Ed Kowalczyk, from the band Live, was nice enough to stop by little ole Bombay's Bar and Grill for a completely amazing, intimate show....

"Oh baby, let my lovin' ease your pain.
Bring your burning skin to my river once again"

"I look at my daughters, and I believe..."

"You've got to learn to live until no end.
But first you must learn to swim all over again."

"oh, now, we took it back too far. Only love can save us now."

The night ended with news that my good friend, Danny Espinoza, was involved in what may become a fatal car accident just days before his 23rd birthday. The night kinda pulled '180' all of the sudden. I've been thinking all week about life and how much we take for granted. Danny is an honest, caring, intelligent person. Someone who still has so much to accomplish and share with the world. We still have many more concerts to go to and more crazy adventures in Vegas to share together. It isn't fair, but things like this can happen to anyone on any given day. I've always appreciated life and its many opportunities, but now I do more than ever.  Danny has been in and out of a coma all week and is living of life support systems. His chances are slim but all his friends and family have been with him every step of the way. Seeing everyone come together like they have has been truely touching. A LIVE lyric stuck with me today:

"Now we walk in the dream
but dream no more
to live a life in love the only thing in common was
we knew there was something more
now we walk in the dream
but dream no more
to live a life in love
to hear the voice in the wilderness
the other side of the door
something more"

I love you Dan... hang in there.
